DESCRIPTION

Entitled “Race, Resistance and Revolution: Freedom is a Constant Struggle,” Dr. Davis’s Knox United Church-convened address will educate Winnipeggers about how social movements around the globe resist oppressive agendas.

Dr. Angela Davis is a leading intellectual, political activist and academic. First gaining international attention in the 1960/70s by way of her organizing work with the Civil Rights and Black Panther movements – and later via her imprisonment and eventual acquital – Dr. Davis is the author of nine books and is a Distinguished PRofessor Emerita at the University of California.
