Make Poverty History Manitoba is holding public consultations on what the Province of Manitoba should do to end poverty.

“We want to hear from people with lived experience of poverty, and those concerned about rising poverty: what should the Manitoba government do?” says Desiree McIvor, Spokesperson for Make Poverty History Manitoba.

“Food costs and rental costs are rising sharply. This is an election year in Manitoba – we want to know what are the priority areas for action to end poverty?” asks Molly McCracken, chair of the provincial committee of Make Poverty History Manitoba.

The consultations will help inform Make Poverty History Manitoba’s demands of all candidates during the upcoming provincial election.

Two consultations are taking place:

  1. Tuesday Feb 7, online 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Register HERE
  2. Thursday Feb 9, in-person 6:30 – 8:30 Knox United, 400 Edmonton St. Winnipeg
