EBC Fundraising Brunch Sunday Nov. 7

Join us in-person or online for our Annual EBC Fundraising Brunch 2021!

Each year, in honour of the work of Errol Black,  we gather with amazing people in our community, visit, eat a lovely brunch but also to celebrate individuals in our midst who have done amazing work.   In 2012 we held our first Errol Black Chair Fundraising Brunch, with Errol, who was honoured and Paul Moist as our Guest Speaker.  Now 9 years later, we are honouring the work of Paul Moist. The newly elected Bea Bruske, Canadian Labour Congress President, will be our Keynote Speaker.

The Manitoba office of the CCPA, established the Errol Black Chair in Labour Issues. This full-time labour research position as a means of honouring Errol’s many contributions to the labour movement and to the CCPA. It honours Errol in a way that carries on the work that has for decades been his passion: doing the highly skilled research and writing that promotes to trade union members and to the general public the many virtues of a healthy trade union movement.  This past year we said thank-you to Lynne Fernandez who proudly held the Chair from 2012 – 2021 and welcomed the new Chair, Saku Pinta.

After a year and a half of not seeing our friends and allies, we are excited to be gathering in-person with those who are comfortable and are double vaccinated.  And we can also connect virtually with friends and colleagues in their homes and across Canada for our 9th Annual Fundraising Brunch with a live Zoom link.
